Linux Password Reset / Password Removal of the root user

Several times friends and colleagues asked me how to reset the password of the linux root user. The distro in question was mostly Debian Etch. I made a small howto that consists of a series of 4 annotated pics, which I attach to this blog. The annotations are in German, but the shell is in bash :-) The process is really simple as long as the bootloader (grub) is not password-protected.
